| NEW ORLEANS JAZZ FUNERALS
A New Orleans-style Jazz Funeral with a parade band has become increasingly popular in the celebration of the life of the deceased. Traditionally, the band leads the procession – walking in front of the cortege to the cemetery playing a slow, mournful, spiritual tune, such as The Old Rugged Cross, or Just a Closer Walk With Thee, or Nearer My God to Thee. |
| Following the burial, the band will strike up with a rousing number such as When The Saints Go Marching In, or Just a Little While To Stay Here, and leads the mourners out of the cemetery. |
| Of course, there are a number of variations of this format to respect the bequest of the deceased, the requirements of the family, or the constraints of the different locations. |
| As an option the band can also play during the service whether it be religious, secular or humanist and also afterwards at the wake/reception. The band can vary in size from 3 to 10 musicians |
| Jazz Magic has been providing jazz for funerals for many years so you will receive a sensitive and professional service. |
